In 1994, Create A Vibe was started as a loose group of friends setting out to bring shows to Northwest NJ.
We started out with two very successful shows at the
Community Theatre in Morristown, NJ with Stanley
Jordan and Gov’t Mule respectively. Soon we took
our shows to the legendary Stanhope House in
Stanhope, NJ where a successful 8 year run started
bringing some memorable shows out to the old
roadhouse. During the years, we kept our home
base at the Stanhope House, but soon started
putting larger shows out and around Northwest, NJ.
A string of shows were put at Waterloo Village,
Baker Ballroom, and the Darress Theater.

In 2003, CAV made two of it’s most important moves that would change our course for years to come.
The first one was producing The Festival With No
Name at Waterloo Village with moe. , The New Deal,
Umphrey’s McGee, & Assembly Of Dust. Soon after
that festival, CAV teamed with Eli Wells as he was
about to reopen Mexicali Blues (now named
Mexicali Live) in Teaneck, NJ.

Over the next 5 years CAV and Mexicali Blues built
a great venue with a reputation for putting on some
of the finest shows in NJ. Working closely with acts
such as Dark Star Orchestra, Steve Kimock, and
Railroad Earth to name a few, we quickly became
known for putting together unique shows in the jam
scene. In 2008, Eli Wells sold Mexicali Blues to
work on The First Annual Mighty High Music
Festival. CAV still does much of the booking at
Mexicali but the plans to expand The Mighty High
and other outdoor Festivals are in the works.
